Quick Answer
Callers can reach one named agent by dialing the agent’s extension in the IVR, calling the agent’s dedicated DID, being auto-reconnected through Sticky Agent routing, or being live-transferred by another teammate, provided Direct Dialing and agent availability are correctly configured.
1. Routing Methods Overview
The platform supports four primary paths to a single agent.
- Direct Extension Dialing during IVR.
- Sticky Agent Routing that returns repeat callers to the last agent they spoke with.
- Live Call Transfer from any colleague on the web panel or mobile app.
2. Prerequisites & Configuration Rules
Two global settings must always be in place before any of the four methods will work.
- Under Call Design > Callflow > Advanced Settings > Inbound Settings, the setting named Direct Dialing must be toggled to Enable.
- Each receiving agent must have an active extension in Manage Users and their Call Availability must read ON. Their handset must not be on Silent or Do Not Disturb (DND).
3. Step-by-Step: Enable Direct Extension Dialing
- Log in as an Admin at in.app.myoperator.com.
- Open Call Design > Callflow > Advanced Settings > Inbound Settings.
- Click Edit beside Direct Dialing, switch the toggle to Enable, and click Save.
- Add an Extension Node in your primary flow or record a menu prompt such as “If you know your agent’s extension, enter it now.”
Caller experience: during that prompt the caller keys in the extension, or they can speed-dial by pressing [Business Number],[Extension] in their phone dial-pad.
4. Step-by-Step: Activate Sticky Agent Routing
- Navigate to Manage Departments and select the relevant department.
- Click Department Settings.
- Turn Sticky Agent ON.
- The call will be routed to same agent attended the call previously until agent is deleted.
- Click Save.
5. Step-by-Step: Transfer Live Calls Between Agents
6. Verify Agent Availability
If the call refuses to connect, double-check that the target agent still has an extension assigned, that Call Availability = ON, and that the handset is not muted, on Silent, or in DND mode.
7. What to Do When Connections Fail
- Email support@myoperator.com or phone 08129-81029 / 092129 92129.
- Quote your Business Account Number (BAN), the Service Number, the target Agent Extension, and 3–5 recent plain-text Call UIDs that failed to connect.
8. How Support & AM Teams Handle Your Request
- Support Team Verification & Guided Troubleshooting. The agent validates BAN and Service Number, confirms the extension in Manage Users, checks that Direct Dialing is ON, and walks you through a live extension or Sticky Agent test.
- Account Manager Hand-off. If you need additional Fixed DIDs, more user seats, a plan upgrade, or explicitly ask for a callback, the Support Team escalates the ticket to your assigned Account Manager.
