How do I reactivate an inactive service number?

How do I reactivate an inactive service number?

Quick Answer

The account can be reactivated only if renewal dues are cleared while the panel is still within Day 7 – Day 28 of non-payment; after Day 29 the panel is permanently deactivated and a brand-new account must be created.

1. Reactivation timeline

Account statusTimelineWhat happens
Active – Grace PeriodRenewal date to Day 7The account stays fully active while the renewal amount is pending.
InactiveDay 7 EOD to Day 28The account is suspended for non-payment. Once the outstanding amount is paid, the Account Manager (AM) can manually reactivate it.
Permanently DeactivatedFrom Day 29The existing panel cannot be restored. A fresh panel/account has to be set up.

2. Step-by-step reactivation process

  1. Identify why the service is inactive. Confirm whether the cause is an unpaid renewal, usage-related suspension, voluntary deactivation, a telecom or regulatory restriction, or any other reason.
  2. Check where you are on the timeline. If the panel is between Day 7 and Day 28, it is still eligible for manual reactivation after payment. From Day 29 onward, it is permanently deactivated.
  3. Clear the outstanding renewal amount. Pay the pending rental through Billing → Payment in the MyOperator panel or by using the official payment link shared by your AM.
  4. Request manual reactivation. After the payment is confirmed, ask your AM to reactivate the account. Reactivation is possible only if the panel has not yet crossed into permanent deactivation and all other conditions are satisfied.
  5. If the panel is already permanently deactivated, begin a new panel/account setup. Payment alone cannot restore the previous configuration.

3. 7-day grace period explained

When the renewal is due, the account automatically receives a 7-day grace period. During these seven days the panel remains fully active and no call flow, number or dashboard feature is interrupted. The renewal amount is still payable. If the payment is made at any time within these seven days, the account never enters the inactive state. If the amount remains unpaid at the end of Day 7, the status flips to Inactive on Day 8.

4. Permanent deactivation on Day 29

If the renewal remains unpaid and the account has already spent Day 7 – Day 28 in the Inactive state, it moves to Permanent Deactivation on Day 29. At this point:

  • The old panel cannot be switched back on, even after payment.
  • All earlier configurations, reports and numbers tied to that panel are lost.
  • You must purchase and configure a new panel/account from scratch.

5. Important notes on service-number vs account inactivity

Always distinguish between the status of the account and the status of an individual service number:

  • If the number is unreachable only because the entire account is inactive, follow the renewal-payment process described above.
  • If the number has been barred by the telecom operator or regulator for compliance reasons, clearing the renewal will not restore connectivity. The underlying restriction must first be removed in coordination with the concerned team.

6. Escalation path if service stays inactive

If your payment is successfully processed and the panel or service number is still not live, email the AM/Support Team at support@myoperator.com. The team will verify:

  • Payment receipt and any remaining balance.
  • Current account status and the exact deactivation date.
  • Eligibility of the panel for reactivation under the Day 7–Day 28 rule.
  • Live status of the service number and any operator-level restrictions.

If further investigation is needed, the AM/Support Team will escalate the ticket to the Tech Support Team for backend checks and resolution.
