What’s the fastest way to create, search, import & manage Contacts—including multiple phone numbers, email IDs, and Custom Fields—in MyOperator?

⚡ Quick answer -

Go to the MyOperator panel → Contacts on the left navigation bar to see every customer profile in one list.

Use the search bar to find anyone by name or phone. Add contacts automatically (from incoming chats or CSV uploads) or manually.

Bulk imports update existing records without duplicates, and multi-select lets you delete many contacts at once.

When should I use this guide?

• You’re setting up the platform for the first time and need a clean, centralized contact database.

• Your sales, support, or marketing team wants to capture extra data points (e.g., tags, interests).

• You receive chat messages from unknown numbers and don’t want to lose those leads.

• You must import or update 100k+ contacts in one go

1 | What are MyOperator Contacts?

MyOperator Contacts are phone numbers (with optional names, emails, and other data) saved in your account so agents can instantly recognise callers, log notes, and run analytics. You can store numbers even if they don’t belong to existing users.

When adding a new contact in MyOperator, you must provide the following mandatory information:

  • Name: Enter the full name of your contact.
  • Phone Number: At least one valid phone number is required.

Typical uses:

• Customer phone numbers (support or sales)

• Business partners (vendors, suppliers)

• Miscellaneous internal or VIP numbers

2 | Prerequisites

• Active MyOperator account (feature available on all plans).

• Admin or authorised User role with “Contacts” permission.

• A CSV editor (Excel, Google Sheets) for bulk imports.

• Mandatory fields for manual entry: Name and Mobile Number.

3 | View & search contacts (check if one already exists)

Tips & troubleshooting:

9 | Delete or merge contacts

Delete

  1. In Contacts, tick one or multiple rows.
  2. Click Delete → Confirm.

Merge duplicates: a phone already exists. MyOperator shows “Number already exists” with the Merge option to combine data.

10 | Edge cases & limits—When does this NOT work?

• A phone number can belong to only one contact; duplicates trigger a merge.

• Phone number is non-editable; delete & recreate if wrong.

• Deleting a Custom Field removes its data permanently (no undo).

• CSVs > 100 000 rows are rejected—split before upload.

• Starter plan supports only one phone number per contact.
