How to submit a New WhatsApp Template Message?


To send proactive messages such as alerts, OTPs, or promotions via WhatsApp, you need to create and submit a template message. These templates must be approved by Meta before they can be used in business-initiated conversations.

Before submitting a template, confirm that:

  • You have a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).
  • You hold the Admin role in Meta Business Manager.
  • Your business has completed Meta Business Verification.

📝 Steps to Create and Submit a Template

  1. Log in to Meta Business Manager.
  2. Go to Business Settings > WhatsApp Manager.
  3. Select your phone number and click on Message Templates.
  4. Click Create Template.
  5. Fill out the required fields:
    • Category → Choose Transactional, OTP, Marketing, or Utility.
    • Template Name → Use lowercase with underscores (e.g., order_update_2025).
    • Language → Select one or more supported languages.
    • Message Body → Write your message. Use placeholders like for dynamic data.
