⚡ Quick answer -
Direct DIDs are phone numbers assigned only for internal use inside the MyOperator platform (IVR, routing, click-to-call). You may not publish them publicly, port them out to another carrier, or treat them as a permanent brand hotline. If you need a public or portable number, request a dedicated / purchased DID instead.
Term | Meaning | Can I publish it? | Portable? |
Direct DID | Number issued only for use within MyOperator IVR/routing | No | No |
Dedicated / Purchased DID | Number you buy to use as a public hotline | Yes | Yes (subject to carrier rules) |

Publishing or attempting to port a direct DID may lead to the number being replaced. If a carrier/regulatory change forces retirement, MyOperator will supply an alternate, and you must update your routing.
