Can I upload contacts?

Yes. You can bulk‑import contacts from a CSV file using the Contacts → Manage Contacts → Import page.

Before you start (prerequisites)

  • Access: You must have permission to view and manage Contacts.
  • Template: Use the Download template CSV on the Import page to get the exact header format.
  • File type: CSV (.csv) saved with UTF‑8 encoding. Avoid formulas or merged cells.
  • Required fields: At least a Phone number. Add CountryCode or include the + prefix.
  • Duplicates: Imports may detect duplicates by phone number. If prompted, choose how to handle them.
  • Limits: Very large files may be split. If you hit a size or row limit, import in batches.

Import contacts (web)

  1. Sign in to your MyOperator panel.
  2. In the left navigation, click ContactsManage ContactsImport.
  3. In Import, click Download template CSV and open it in Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.
  4. Paste your data into the template. Keep the column headers unchanged.
  5. Save as CSV (UTF‑8).
  6. Back on the Import page, click Upload file, then choose your CSV.
  7. If a field mapping screen appears, confirm each column maps to the correct field.
  8. If asked about duplicates, select your preferred option (Skip, Update, or Merge).
  9. Click Upload to start the import.
  10. A banner confirms the upload started. You’ll see progress and an import log when complete.
Result: Contacts are added or updated based on your selections. The import log shows processed rows, successes, and any errors.

Verify your results

  • Go to Contacts and search for a few imported names or numbers.
  • Open the Import log to confirm Total, Imported, Updated, Skipped, and Errors.
  • If tags or groups were included, filter by those tags to validate.

Alternatives & notes (mobile/API)

  • Mobile app: You can view and edit individual contacts. Bulk import is web‑only.
  • API: If your plan includes developer access, use the Contacts endpoints for automation. If you don’t see API options, use CSV import.

Troubleshooting

  • “Invalid header” → Download the latest template and keep headers exactly the same.
  • “Phone number invalid” → Use digits only with country code, or provide a CountryCode column.
  • “File encoding not supported” → Re‑save as CSV (UTF‑8).

  • Unexpected duplicates → Check for spaces, different country codes, or alternate numbers in your data.
