Can we add multiple phone numbers?

Can we add multiple phone numbers?

Why you might do this

Customers and teammates often use more than one number—work desk, mobile, WhatsApp, etc. Adding all of them keeps call logs, notes, and analytics in one place.

Prerequisites

What

Notes

Role

Admin or User with “Contacts → Edit” permission

Plan

Growth, Premium, or higher (Starter supports only one number per contact)

Step-by-Step

  1. Log in to your MyOperator panel.
  2. In the left navigation, select ☰ Contacts » Manage Contacts.
  3. Use the 🔍 Search bar to locate the contact.
  4. Click ✏️ Edit on the right of the contact row.
  5. Scroll to Phone Numbers → click ➕ Add Number.
Paste or type the number in E.164 format (e.g., +91 9876543210).
  6. (Optional) Use Custom Fields to label each number—“Work”, “Personal”, “WhatsApp”.
  7. Select 💾 Save. A green toast “Contact updated” confirms success.
Need to add numbers in bulk? Use **Contacts » Import CSV**. Download the template → fill *secondary_phones* column → Import.

Expected Outcome

  • All added numbers appear under the contact card.
  • Future calls/SMS to any of those numbers now map to this single contact.
  • Analytics reports merge data automatically.

Limits & Edge Cases

Scenario

What Happens / Fix

Max numbers per contact

5 (Growth), 10 (Premium). Upgrade prompt appears if limit reached.

Duplicate number

You’ll see “Number already exists in another contact” → choose Merge or Cancel.

Invalid format

“Enter a valid phone number” error—ensure country code.

Troubleshooting

No Add Number button? → Check that your role has Contacts » Edit permission under Settings » Users & Roles.
Toast doesn’t appear? → Refresh; if still failing, clear browser cache or try Incognito.

Next Steps / Escalation

If the number still won’t save, email support@myoperator.com with:

  • Contact name & ID
  • Numbers you tried to add
  • Screenshot of the error message (Alt-text: “Error popup when adding secondary phone number”)
A support engineer will reply within one business day.
