How can I cancel a scheduled WhatsApp campaign?

⚡Quick answer -

You can cancel a scheduled WhatsApp campaign up to 5 minutes before its scheduled send time.
Once the system begins preparing messages (Sending / In Progress), the queue is locked and the campaign can no longer be edited or cancelled.

When should I use this guide?

Use this guide whenever you’ve already scheduled a campaign but need to stop it before it starts sending—for example, if the offer changed, the audience is wrong, or content needs correction.

Steps to cancel a scheduled campaign

  1. Go to the Campaign Listing Page in your dashboard.
  2. Use the Status filter and select Scheduled to narrow down the list.
  3. Find the campaign you want to cancel.

List of Scheduled campaigns

  1. Click the three-dot (⋮) menu or Actions button beside that campaign.

Select to delete the scheduled campaign

  1. Select Cancel Campaign.
  2. In the confirmation pop-up, click Yes, Cancel to confirm.

If the campaign is already in Sending / In Progress, the cancel option may be disabled or rejected.

Do vs. Don’t when cancelling campaigns

✅ Do

❌ Don’t

Cancel at least 5 minutes before scheduled time

Wait until the last minute—cancellation may be blocked

Use the Scheduled status filter to find campaigns quickly

Try to cancel campaigns already marked In Progress or Send Now

Confirm cancellation in the pop-up to stop all messages

Assume credits were used—no credits are deducted if cancelled in time

Expect the cancel option after delivery has already started

What happens after cancellation?

  • The campaign status changes to Cancelled.

  • The cancelled campaign remains visible on the Campaign Listing Page for audit/history.

Best practices checklist

  • Review campaign content, audience, and timing carefully before scheduling to minimise last-minute changes.
  • If you need changes, cancel early—do not wait until the final few minutes.
  • Use Draft mode to finalise templates, audiences, and media before scheduling.
  • Double-check your timezone settings to avoid scheduling or cancellation mistakes.
  • Enable or monitor low-credit and error alerts, so you don’t cancel campaigns for issues that could have been prevented (like insufficient credits).
