⚡Quick answer -
Here is step-by-step checklist of the exact steps inside Facebook Business Manager (FBM) to onboard a new phone number to the WhatsApp Business Platform and assign MyOperator as your Partner.
This is the accurate partner-onboarding flow that Meta uses today (WABA creation → partner assignment → phone-number onboarding).
Open this guide the moment you’re ready to connect your WhatsApp phone number to MyOperator. It walks you through every FBM screen, shows verification checkpoints, and flags the common errors that stall onboarding.
This process has three phases:
1.Prepare FBM & Business Verification
2.Assign MyOperator as a Partner (BSP)
3.Add and Verify a Phone Number inside WhatsApp Manager
1. Log in to Business Manager
Go to: https://business.facebook.com
2. Select the correct Business Account
This must be the business BAN under which your WABA will live.
3. Make sure “Business Verification” is completed
Go to:
Settings → Business Settings → Security Center → Business Verification
4. Ensure you have Admin Access
Go to:
Business Settings → People → Your Name → Admin access ON
MyOperator must be added as a Partner with proper asset permissions.
5. Open Business Settings
Left sidebar → Business Settings
6. Click “Partners” → “Add” → “Give a partner access to your assets”
7. Enter MyOperator’s Partner Business ID
Your MyOperator onboarding manager will provide this
(Example placeholder: 1938xxxxxxx)
8. Assign These Assets & Permissions
You must give MyOperator access to:
A. WhatsApp Accounts
B. Phone Numbers
If numbers already exist, grant:
C. System User / App (if asked)
Sometimes Meta requires MyOperator’s system user to be added here as well.
Once done → MyOperator now has enough access to configure your WABA.
9. Go to “WhatsApp Manager”
In the left menu:
Business Settings → Accounts → WhatsApp Accounts → Open in WhatsApp Manager
10. Create or Select Your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
If your WABA doesn’t exist:
If it exists → proceed.
1.Make sure display name matches:
2.Choose the verification method
Options:
Enter the OTP when prompted.
3.Number gets registered.
4.Meta reviews your display name (usually upto 15minutes, sometimes upto 24hours)
5.Number Becomes “Connected”
Once display-name and registration pass:
Requirement | Why It Matters |
Facebook Business Manager (FBM) account | Needed to verify your business identity and link your WABA. |
Active website or social media page | Confirms your online presence and brand legitimacy. |
Phone number not already linked to WhatsApp | Must not be registered on WhatsApp, WhatsApp Business App, or another WABA. This number will be verified via SMS or voice call. |
Business verification documents | FBM requires valid government-issued documents (e.g., GST certificate, incorporation license, Bank Details) to complete verification. |
Business display name | Will be reviewed by Meta to ensure it matches your legal brand identity. |
WhatsApp template creation and Approval | Ensures you can send templates (Marketing, Utility, Authentication) and handle incoming chats. |
Payment method in FBM (card/bank) | Required for billing once WhatsApp usage begins. |
Tier | Daily unique recipients | How to unlock |
1 | 1 000 (default) | Automatic after onboarding via FBM |
2 | 10 000 | Maintain high quality + FBM verified |
3 | 100 000 | Sustained quality feedback |
4 | Unlimited | Verified + consistent performance |
• Number already linked to another WhatsApp account → remove it first.
• Incomplete website / mismatched business name → Business Verification delays.
• Wrong template category later (e.g., offer filed as Utility) → template rejection.
✔️ Test OTP delivery before onboarding—failed attempts can lock the number for 24 h.
✔️ Keep business-verification documents (license, tax cert) ready for upload.
✔️ Preview templates with real variables before submitting for approval.
