How to block incoming messages?
Overview:
If you need to block incoming messages (calls or texts) from specific numbers or sources, MyOperator provides flexible options for both temporary and permanent message blocking.
Methods for Blocking Incoming Messages:
- Block a Specific Number:
- Navigate to Call Logs or SMS Logs in your MyOperator Dashboard.
- Locate the number you want to block.
- Click the More Options (⋮) button and select Block Number.
- Confirm your action.
- Outcome: This will block both calls and messages from the selected number across your account.
- Block by IVR Route or Department:
- Go to IVR > Call Flows in the dashboard.
- Select the department or route you wish to restrict.
- Disable incoming call forwarding or adjust operating hours to block inputs.
- Ideal For: Blocking messages during off-hours or specific routes.
- Enable Do Not Disturb (DND) Filters:
- Navigate to Settings > Compliance in your dashboard.
- Enable DND Filtering to block incoming promotional messages, in line with TRAI guidelines.
What Happens After Blocking?
- Blocked Numbers: Calls will no longer be routed to agents, and messages will be blocked.
- SMS & WhatsApp Responses: No responses will be sent to blocked sources.
- Logs: Attempts from blocked numbers will still be recorded, labeled as Blocked.
