Can we create a list from external numbers?

Can we create a list from external numbers?

Short answer: No. Subscription lists in MyOperator can only be created from numbers that already exist in your account (e.g., callers from missed/received/connected calls). Manual uploads, CSV/API imports, or copy‑pasted external numbers aren’t supported for list creation. This policy helps enforce consent‑based outreach and prevents unauthorized contact uploads.

What counts as “external numbers”?

Any phone numbers not generated by MyOperator activity, such as:

  • Manually typed or pasted spreadsheets
  • CSV files from other CRMs/marketing tools
  • API imports from outside systems

These sources cannot be used to create a subscription list in MyOperator.

Approved way to build lists

Subscription lists are saved segments of contacts built from call data captured in your account (panel or mobile app). You define filters (e.g., department, status, time range, tags/intent) and save them as a reusable list for remarketing and analytics.

Create a list (step‑by‑step)

  1. Sign in to MyOperator.
  2. Go to Remarketing (top navigation).
  3. Click New List (from the left panel or My Lists page).
  4. Choose filters (e.g., Department = Sales, Status = Missed, Date = Last 7 days).
  5. Enter a List Name and click Save List.

After saving, you’ll see List Size and Last Updated on the My Lists page.

Example segments you can copy

  • Missed Sales – Last 7 Days
Department: Sales • Status: Missed • Date: Last 7 days
  • Repeat Callers (30 Days)
    Calls ≥ 2 • Date: Last 30 days
  • High‑Intent Leads (This Month)
Tag/Intent: Qualified • Source: IVR Option 1 • Date: This month
Tip: Use a consistent naming pattern like Team – Criteria – Window so teams can find lists easily.

Why external uploads are blocked

  • Consent & compliance: Helps enforce consent‑based remarketing and respect local DND/regulatory rules.
  • Data quality: Reduces list pollution, duplicates, and risky contact sources.
  • Attribution integrity: Keeps remarketing tied to verifiable call interactions in your account.

Troubleshooting

  • “I need to target contacts not in MyOperator.” Capture consent inside MyOperator first (e.g., via call interactions/IVR flows); once contacts exist in call data, you can segment them.
  • List is empty or smaller than expected. Clear conflicting filters, widen the date range, confirm the workspace, and allow brief processing time. (Counts may reflect deduplication by phone.)
  • I must migrate legacy marketing lists. Direct external uploads aren’t supported for subscription lists. If migration is a hard requirement, contact support to discuss compliant alternatives for outreach.
