⚡Quick answer -
Yes. After-Call SMS is a paid add-on. Your cost depends on:
(1) the edition/plan you’re on,
(2) whether you run the feature in One-way mode (caller or user) or Two-way mode (caller and user), and
(3) any per-SMS usage your plan bills beyond the monthly rental. Use the formula in the “Cost-estimation worksheet” below and then cross-check the actual line items in Billing → Invoices.
When should I use this guide?
Use it if you (Finance / Admin / Ops) need to verify whether After-Call SMS is enabled, understand how it’s billed, forecast next month’s expense, or reconcile an invoice that looks higher than expected.
Prerequisites – what to collect first
• Account / Client ID
• Edition / Plan name (e.g., Compact / sedan / SUV)
• Number of channel lines on the account
• Whether After-Call SMS ran in One-way or Two-way mode on each line during the month
• Latest invoice number & period
When no charge appears:
• Feature disabled for the entire cycle
• You are still inside a free-trial allotment or plan inclusions
• Charges will post in the next cycle because of the cut-off timing
How After-Call SMS Billing Works
- Monthly rental (most plans)
- Charged per channel line that has After-Call SMS enabled in that billing month.
- One-way vs Two-way
- One-way = SMS to either caller or user (lower rental).
- two-way = SMS to the caller and the user (higher rental).
- If a line runs Two-way at any point in the month, the higher rental applies for the full month (no proration).
- Per-SMS usage (some plans)
- Once monthly rentals or bundled credits are consumed, extra SMS are billed at the plan’s overage rate.
- Compliance note
- Only SMS that pass DLT header/template checks will send; failed messages do not incur usage fees.
Cost-estimation worksheet (Lite editions)
Copy-paste-ready formula:
Let
L1 = # channel lines that stayed One-way for the whole month
L2 = # channel lines that had Two-way enabled at any time
Monthly rental = (L1 × ₹200) + (L2 × ₹400)
• Two-way supersedes One-way on a line for the month—you never pay both rates on the same line.
• If you down-toggle to One-way, the lower rate resumes next month.
Example
Line ID | Mode this month | Rental |
101 | One-way only | ₹200 |
102 | Two-way (enabled 12–18 Aug) | ₹400 |
103 | Two-way all month | ₹400 |
Total rental = ₹1,000
Where to view charges in the Dashboard & invoices
- Dashboard → Billing / Business Plan → Feature details → After-Call SMS
- Shows current rental & per-SMS rates.
- Dashboard → Billing → Invoices / History
- Open the latest invoice → locate After-Call SMS line items
- Cross-check the rental against your L1/L2 count and any usage fees.
Troubleshooting high or missing charges
Symptom | Likely cause | Quick fix |
The invoice is higher than the forecast | Two-way briefly enabled on one or more lines | Audit rule history: restrict toggle rights to Admins |
Unexpected per-SMS fees | High call volume exceeded rentals | Check SMS count in Reports → SMS |
No charges, but SMS delivered | Within plan inclusions, or the charge will post next cycle | Re-check next invoice |
Invoice is lower than the estimate | Some lines never had After-Call SMS turned on | Verify feature status line-by-line |
